c. Terminal Phase Intercept:

During the terminal phase, the missile is descending towards its target. Intercepting the missile at this stage can prevent it from reaching its intended destination. Laser weapons targeting the terminal phase aim to destroy critical components such as the warhead or the missile's control surfaces (fins or wings), disabling its ability to accurately strike the target. Destroying the warhead can prevent the release of its destructive payload.
